Most of our hotels are available for immediate online booking. Once you have selected a country and/or region in the search panels and input your dates, our results page will display details of the Room for Romance properties available. You will also see details here of hotels which do not have live online booking (marked "Send Request"), to whom you can send a Booking Inquiry form and then book direct These hotels will respond to you directly.

HOW FAR AHEAD SHOULD I BOOK?
DO book well ahead for weekend stays to avoid disappointment. Many Room for Romance properties are booked out on bank holiday weekends and around Valentine's Day, so the more notice you can give the better. Continental hotels with a limited season can also be heavily booked during school summer holidays and other peak periods. If it's an anniversary or other date-specific getaway, do plan well ahead!
MUST I BE A MEMBER TO BOOK WITH ROOM FOR ROMANCE?
No, there’s no membership requirement, joining fees or logins needed to make bookings with us and enjoy the complimentary Extras given at most of our hotels. You can sign up for our e-newsletters on our home page, ensuring that you're first to know about new special offers at Room for Romance properties.
WHAT ARE ROOM FOR ROMANCE EXTRAS?
These are special – and often exclusive – complimentary Extras provided when you book through Room for Romance, such as a bottle of champagne, an upgrade or a gift. They help ensure you enjoy your romantic getaway to the full. No joining or membership fee is required to be eligible for Room for Romance Extras, so look out for details on our hotel pages. Note: Extras may not apply when you are booking discounted deals or added-value packages from our Offers page.
WHAT ABOUT ROOM UPGRADES?
Where a room upgrade is offered as a Room for Romance Extra, such upgrades are always made subject to availability on the day of check-in. Upgrades are normally to the next highest room category, and further upgrades are at the hotel's discretion.
HOW DOES THE ONLINE BOOKING PROCESS WORK?
Our booking system is smooth and hassle-free. Our reservations team will contact you by email to confirm your booking and any special requests. This normally happens within a few hours of your booking being made. A deposit is normally taken to secure your reservation, and this amount will appear on your credit card statement under the name Starfish Interactive.
Should your chosen property be an "On Request" hotel (ie without online booking), our team will check availability and confirm details to you swiftly. Other properties work with us on a "book direct" basis and you will be able to enter your details on an Inquiry form that goes directly to them. They will then respond to you directly – generally within a few hours.
Individual hotels’ booking conditions vary, and when booking online you will be required to provide credit card details (normally with a deposit) to guarantee your booking. This is processed in a secure environment using the latest 128 bit SSL encryption technology. Your booking details will show exactly what deposit is payable and the balance payable to the hotel on departure. WOULDN'T I GET A BETTER RATE BY JUST CONTACTING THE HOTEL DIRECT?
No – we offer the BEST available rates. We source our rates directly from the hotels and are also able to offer special discounted rates that are sometimes lower than those available directly from the hotel.
Don’t forget that by booking through Room for Romance you will often receive special free Extras, too – be it a room upgrade or a bottle of chilled champagne – to make your stay extra special. And there's no membership needed.
OUR RATE GUARANTEE
Simple: If you find a lower rate for the same room type under the same conditions within 24 hours of booking with us, then we will either refund you the difference or cancel your reservation at no cost to you.

Personal information related to your bookings is collected directly by our online booking partners Starfish Luxury Travel, part of the Travel Intelligence group. This information is only used to process and confirm your booking, and is required to ensure you receive a professional service.
We do not sell or disclose your personal information to other companies without your prior consent, nor do we sell mailing lists to third parties. We may contact you to advise you of any changes or problems with your hotel booking, to send you our newsletters if you have chosen to subscribe, or to notify you if you have won a Room for Romance competition.

HOW DO I CHECK THE STATUS OF MY RESERVATION?
Full details of your Room for Romance booking – which you should print out and take with you on your trip – will be sent to you by email. This will include details of any deposit paid, your booking reference number, together with contact numbers and detailed directions to your accommodation. You can also view the details of your reservation online.
CAN YOU HELP WITH FLIGHTS AND TRAVEL INSURANCE?
You will need to arrange your own flights or rail/ferry travel, but we can help with travel insurance for your trip. Just click on the link to obtain a competitive quote and some great deals from our insurance partners, Columbus.
WHAT CURRENCY IS MY PAYMENT MADE IN?
Room rates are quoted in the local currency of the hotel you have booked with, or in US dollars, and charged in that currency. For your convenience, you will find a currency converter on our booking pages, that lets you calculate the approximate cost in other key currencies.
ARE YOUR ROOM RATES INCLUSIVE OF TAXES AND SURCHARGES?
Yes, unless otherwise stated. Our booking pages state clearly what is included and not included in the rates shown. These are normally quoted per room per night, based on double occupancy and generally (though not always) including breakfast.
WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY BOOKING?
You should contact us by phone on 01225 428888 or at the email address shown on your booking confirmation if you need to cancel your reservation. Each property has its own cancellation policy (displayed when you make your booking, and on your booking confirmation) and charges apply if you cancel within the hotel's stated cancellation penalty period. In this case, the booking deposit paid to Room for Romance is also non-refundable.
Travel insurance can cover you for losses incurred through cancellation, and you can obtain a competitive quote through our partners Columbus Insurance – see above.
WHAT DOES "REQUEST NOW" MEAN?
The "Request Now" button shows instead of "Book Now" if your chosen hotel does not have live online booking. Our bookings team will double check that the hotel has availability on your chosen dates and contact you by phone or email as soon as possible. This is normally within a few hours.
